More on Gelernter

Susan Ohanian knows the playas better than I, and she quickly identifies David Gelernter, who wrote the let's-get-rid-of-public-schools rant for the LAT, as a guy who was the former chief of technology at William Bennett's for-profit online school called K12.

Well, a bit of disclosure would've provided badly needed context. But then, this type of behavior must run in the Family, as it seems William Bennett has a similar problem with nondisclosure per the Carpetbagger.

In the meantime, you can read a much better critique of Gelernter's piece at Assorted Stuff.

The Heartland Institute is a SPN-associated conservative think tank.

UPDATE: And the more I think about this, the more I believe the LAT, as a public service, should have provided necessary background before unleashing this probable conservative-think tank associated piece. If anything, what about a simple balance on their op-ed pages?
