New activist edublog

It's called Testing Abuses. EPATA, Educators and Parents Against Testing Abuse, is a group new to me, headed by Rog Lucido.

Check out his recent call for action against high-stakes testing.

A Call for Resistance
Can we afford to be silent any longer?
Dear Friends, The time is here. There is a window of opportunity before us. The Governor's conference, the Business Roundtables of our country, Bill Gates and the U.S. Department of Education have stated their plans. The National Conference of State Legislatures has let their intentions be known in their attack on NCLB. Many states are challenging various aspects of the law. NEA has expressed grave concerns about the impact that NCLB is having and will have on our schools. Educators and community leaders of profound status have exposed the flaws and consequences of this high-stakes fiasco. Some parents are pleading for the educational life of their children. Students and teachers across our country are being oppressed by this insanity.
