California voters win

Our Secretary of State, Kevin Shelley, went ahead and blocked use of Diebold electronic voting machines in California. Four counties are totally banned from using the machines. 10/14 can use them if they meet new conditions.
Shelley, following the recommendation of his Voting Systems and Procedures Panel, yanked state approval of a touch-screen voting machine made by Diebold Election Systems -- the TSx, which was used in Solano, San Joaquin, Kern and San Diego counties.
Most significant: he's recommending that Diebold be investigated for criminal wrongdoings. Seems they lied too many times to Shelley's staff.

Funny how punchcards are now preferable to Diebold voting machines. Millions of dollars spent to buy these machines by the counties; how about refunding that money to CA taxpayers?
