Dubya's broken promises

American Progress has compiled a chart which provides specifics to Dubya's broken promises on health, environment, and education. Good stuff if you're like me, outnumbered by the Republican in-laws. The Repubs do a great job with getting their talking points out to people, especially my in-laws. Does anyone else find it hard to counter the rhetoric off the top of your head?

Here's what they have on education:
HIGHER ED RHETORIC

George W. Bush will "fully fund the Pell grant program for first-year students by increasing the maximum grant amount by more than 50 percent, to $5,100."

HIGHER ED REALITY
President Bush has frozen the maximum Pell Grant at $4,050 in his FY 2005 education budget. This is the third year in a row that Bush has frozen or cut the maximum Pell Grant. [Source: House Committee on Education and the Work Force 2/2/04]
More please, on education. And puh-leeze, let's get away from 'not enough funding' mantra cuz there's tons more things wrong with education.
