March and rally in Santa Monica against Gov. Schwarzenegger

From Democracy for America, LA:
Friends,

Our little idea to protest Governor Schwarzenegger's speech on Tuesday has ballooned to a huge march and rally. Seems we weren't the only ones with that idea. Thanks are due to Anne Smith, who's organized it from our end.

Thanks to everyone who came to the joint Hollywood and Westside meetup. Sorry we didn't have enough seats for everyone, but it was great to get together as one DFALA community.

March against Arnold for schools
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Governor Schwarzenegger is giving the commencement speech at Santa Monica College tomorrow and we will be there. Schwarzenegger has "borrowed" money from public education and plans to cut more. Tuitions are up and hundreds of thousands of high school seniors will be out of luck in the next few years.
In case you need another reason, Arnold's $70 million special election should be announced today.
Please join us and a fantastic bunch of activists from West LA Democratic Club and United Teachers of Los Angeles, among others, and tell Schwarzenegger we've had enough. Of course, please be respectful of the students and their parents attending the commencement.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 14, 2005 from 5 pm to at least 8 pm. If you can't get off work early, come at 8 and help pass out fliers.
WHERE: The march begins at 5:00 at St. Anne's (Colorado & 20th St. in Santa Monica). You'll get to the school at about 5:30 and speakers will start at 6:00. The campus is big; the event will be at 20th and Pico. Click for a campus map:
Even more reason to march now that Governor Schwarzenegger, the (rich) People's Governor of California, has decided to govern by initiative. He's called for a special election on November 8th, 2005.
