Volunteer work

I spend my Mondays volunteering in the kindergarten.

I come home, totally debilitated. I am not meant to teach kindergarten. I am absolutely not meant to be a math teacher for kindergarteners.

I spend most of my time coaching, cajoling, and as gently as possible coercing 6 wriggly kindergarteners whose butts won't stay in their chairs to do their math workbook. It's major multitasking chore amidst the flying pencils and erasers.

It's a wonder these kids learn anything. I can't imagine what first grade will be like.
