Gov. Schwarzenegger (hearts) his special friends

LAT
Two days before he was sworn into office, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger accepted a consulting job paying an estimated $8 million over five years to "further the business objectives" of a national publisher of health and bodybuilding magazines
And, like a good and loyal buddy, the Governor vetoes legislation that would've helped regulate the industry, the nutritional supplement makers, the major source of his $8 million.

No surprise, and I doubt news of this conflict of interest would perk up the ears of the average Angeleno but of interest was the LAT's splashy treatment.

Front paged on the LAT: 'Gov. To Be Paid $8 Million by Fitness Magazines', and for those who don't get the home paper version, we woke up to see this title over a photo of a group of extremely upset women sobbing and wailing, rightly so. I'd say it was a very interesting *cough**passive-aggressive*cough* juxtaposition.

In any case, this was surely a successful visual for someone who usually goes online for the news.
