Education matters
Here's some stuff I've come across today.
Nations have recently been led to borrow billions for war; no nation has ever borrowed largely for education... no nation is rich enough to pay for both war and civilization. We must make our choice; we cannot have both.Seems to be a fitting quote for the day.
Abraham Flexner, American educator
Just found a new website called NCLBgrassroots.org, designed to track NCLB articles by state and by issue. Looks like it could be a powerful resource. Please check it out.
Update: I see they don't warn you if articles require registration. Also, some articles are no longer available. Still, it's a good resource for recent articles. Just go to bugmenot.com to get passwords for access.
Finally, National PTA has put out a nifty voter guide. I know I'm preaching to the choir here so you all know what to do. But here's something you can forward to those who aren't as well-informed and want some guidance on matters related to education:
1. A guide to help people choose candidates
2. Questions for candidates
3. Register to vote here
